Setting Resolutions is the common practice for the new year and even though we know we won’t keep them, we set them anyway. Why? Why do we do this? I think it’s because we want to do better. We want to make a change. And the new year feels like a good time to do it. I agree. The problem is we have this all or nothing mentality. That’s not reality. There is no such thing as perfect. Stress is high for many right now. While we can't change that, we can shift from a constant state of worry to focusing on what is in your control. Focus on your blessings. Focus on what you DO have instead of what you don’t. By doing this you’re training your brain to find the good.
Start with choosing just one thing to celebrate or be grateful for. Sit with that feeling for a bit. We're not ignoring the worry, stress and anxiety - we acknowledge it and then choose different.
